Calcium hydroxylapatite, which is a synthetic product that is made from the same material as our teeth and bones. Thus, the body does not recognize it as foreign, and does not form granulomas (inflammatory bumps) against it.
9- 12 months, some as long as 18 months. Many patients get a touch-up treatment 3-4 months after their first injection, which usually prolongs the longevity.
The filler is too thick to use at the tear troughs under the eyes or in the lips. It also cannot be injected into fine wrinkles because it needs to be placed deep. If it is placed to close to the surface of the skin, a “tindel” effect will occur – this is a bluish hue over the skin.

Bruising and swelling occurs in some patients, but varies greatly in severity. It usually completely resolves within 2 weeks.
